What is the Literary Enrichment Program?

Literary Enrichment Program

 Grades K-2

Students in Kindergarten, 1^st & 2^nd grade, who are reading well above their classmates and/or grade level:

• are recommended by their teachers or Mrs. Hume

• meet once every other week for ½ hour

• read books/stories closer to their reading level

• learn about topics presented in the stories
  (ex. Magic Tree House books have historical information in them.)

• do activities related to the stories

• discuss key components, such as:

setting, characters, plot, etc.

 It is important to note that the Literary Enrichment Program is not S.T.E.P.

and  students in the Enrichment Program are NOT automatically placed in S.T.E.P.
